2023: Honour 35 per cent affirmation policy for women, aspirant tells Makinde

The female aspirant for the seat of Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency, Hon (Dr) Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, has urged the Executive Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde to comply with 35 per cent affirmation policy of according women their rightful place as their male counterparts.

Hon (Dr) Adekanmbi-Akinseye, made the appeal in a press briefing with Southwest-frontier News in Ibadan on Wednesday. 

She said the Governor should adhere to the gender-sensitive rule by giving women active participatory roles in governance and equal opportunities in other human endeavours like their male counterparts.

She added that Oyo State women should continue to live in peace and harmony with their male counterparts as well as embarking on activities that would move the state to the next level.
She cmmended Gov. Makinde for appointing women in his cabinet and advised the female political appointees to continue join hands with Gov. Makinde led administration to succeed in the provision of dividends of democracy for the people of Oyo State beyond 2023.
Hon (Dr) Adekanmbi-Akinseye also urged women across the country to be sensitive in making themselves relevant in politics.

The female ferderal representative aspirant stressed that women could even aspire to be the president of Nigeria which she affirmed that it was very possible in the eye of the Almighty God.
